Takehiro Takayanagi

CEO / Researcher

Simulacra is an AI startup born out of the Izumi Laboratory at the University of Tokyo. We research and develop foundation models for digital twins that reproduce how people think and behave. By modeling an individual's decision-making patterns and scaling that up to organizations and society, we aim to make it possible to simulate any option before acting on it. Our mission is to turn decision-making from something that rests on intuition and experience into something you can test and verify.

Team

Our members come from the University of Tokyo and other research institutions, bringing together expertise in AI, social simulation, and data science.

Joint Research / Product & Service Co-development

Joint Research

We co-create research themes around digital twin technology with clients and research institutions. We work alongside you from modeling the decisions of individuals and groups, through simulation design, implementation, and validation, to publication.

Duration6 to 24 months, with quarterly reviews
DeliverablesResearch reports, simulation environments, papers and conference presentations, support for patent applications
DomainsDigital twin foundation models, decision simulation, finance, public policy, marketing, and organizational design

Product & Service Co-development

We co-develop products and services built on digital twin technology, starting from concept design. We build decision-support tools and simulation environments powered by digital twins of individuals and groups, moving step by step from PoC to MVP to production.

Duration3 to 12 months
DeliverablesMVP, simulation platform, evaluation and logging infrastructure, operational design
ApproachDefine the problem → design use cases → small-scale PoC → validate KPIs → go to production
